Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad (Tmerfiew /j̼ad/ [partner; ally] [lump; knot]) is a subtropical Town located in Ujéänfipo Hold, Híhmíhkātwèpli Provence, within the Tauranian United Provinces.

The name Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad was founded by Håhil̄ Griffith, who was culturaly Tauric.

Overview

Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1088, by Håhil̄ Griffith. The establishment of Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Håhil̄ Griffith struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad as a prison colony.

Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of broad baked earthen streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The minimaly adiquite has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

But the income once drawn in by the works of scribes and academics has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Everywhere about the town one can see abandoned schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual. Even in these times.

Civic Infrastructure

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad's natural decorations nor waterways.

While Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century a most peculiar disaster struck Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad, causing great chunks of ice to fall from the sky. Kèr Tmerfiewj̼ad lost 186 people, 241 livestock, and 44 buildings in the disaster.. The ice rain is generally remembered as the Terror Rain.
